The upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars is going to have a whole new look. The biggest changes are that instead of the usual bleacher type seating for the audience, their will be three tiered balcony seating. This will be more like what you see at an opera house or something of that nature. I think it will give audience members more of an elegant feeling rather that feeling like they are sitting at a sporting event.
Then the dance floor is going to be elevated. This is a bit of a surprise to me since during the season, when they do the Macy’s specials and elevate the stage, the dancers are always stressed about falling off and hurting themselves. Now this will be in place the entire season. I wonder how the pro dancers reacted to that “upgrade”?
The big staircase that the duos come down at the opening of every show will now split in two and the orchestra pit will be in there.
The total cost for this big makeover? $3 million. Will it pay off? We will find out soon enough.
What do you think of the changes? Were you sick of the original set?
