Jennifer Lopez has said that soon after her two children, Emmie and Max, were born, she struggled to bond with them because she thought ‘they didn’t like her’. The What To Expect When You’re Expecting actress has said that the movie very much relates to her story in real life because it’s based on a book which she had read and actually gave her the courage to connect with her kids.
Lopez who has joint-custody to her two kids, says: “I remember after the babies were born, about seven to 10 days in, I was like, ‘What is going on with me? I felt sad and depressed and thought the babies didn’t love me.”
The American Idol judge continued: “I actually remember picking up the book to try to see what was happening to me, and it said how you have this huge hormonal drop about seven to 10 days after you give birth. It’s called the ‘baby blues.’ But I just thought [the twins] didn’t like me!”
