The Duchess of Cambridge is becoming really clever in mixing high fashion with everyday bargains that you or I would snatch up. Kate Middleton was drop dead stunning on Tuesday in a beautiful lace Alexander McQueen dress that hugged her figure perfectly. What was the latest twist? She paired it with replica earrings designed by Belinda Hadden of Heavenly Necklaces. Middleton also paired the dress with her usual nude shoes and a hat by Jane Taylor, keeping her hair simple in a half-up do.
A momentary endorsement by Middleton will inevitably boost sales, a nice side effect that Hadden felt. “I was at a wedding, so I had no idea Kate had worn my earrings until another client sent me an email asking: ‘Are they the same as mine?’. Within the next 24 hours, I had sold out. I sold 60 on my website, which is the amount I would usually sell in a whole year.”
It’s certainly not the first time Middleton has mixed designer fashion with high end street wear and I’m sure it won’t be the last time we see her do it either. The Queen is said to really appreciate Middleton’s recycling of outfits and thrifty nature. The fact that she doesn’t just spend an enormous amount on everything is what has set her apart from the other Royals.
