So nice to know that Ne-Yo has a heart.. sadly we don’t. The R&B singer has said that he doesn’t understand why people are making such a big fuss about Beyonce lipsyncing at the presidential inauguration, because “we all know she can sing”. The 30-year old is penning several tracks for Beyonce’s forthcoming album, feels like whether she sang live or not, it was still a pleasure to watch and people need to stop trying to look at the negative side of things.
“Whether she got up there and lip-synched or not, did you enjoy the show? That’s what’s important,” Ne-Yo told BBC Newsbeat. “It’s neither here nor there. People need a reason to talk crazy about somebody. Give it a rest, leave it.” Umm, if you’re going to sing in front of a thousands of people, including the president — how the heck does that give you the right to lipsync a song? That’s even more embarrassing than doing it at your own show.
“Everyone knows that Beyoncé has an incredible voice and that Beyoncé will get on that stage and burn it down. Everybody knows that already,” Ne-Yo added when he was asked why he thinks Bey refused to give her fans and the nation what they wanted… a nice rendition of the National Anthem. That’s all we wanted! Is that too much to ask for?
According to CelebDirtyLaundry, Beyonce is very likely to be lip-syncing at her Super Bowl halftime performance next month, as it’s very common for the headlining act to mime to their songs at such a big event. Madonna, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A all performed to their studio track Give Me All Your Luv’in at last year’s Super Bowl due to the rush of having to move an entire stage on to its platform in just four minutes.
