Cher and Annette Bening have become BFFs. The two have bonded because they both have transgender sons. Cher’s son with the late Sonny Bono, 43-year old Chaz Bono is an transgender advocate, writer, and musician. Annette’s son with Warren Beauty, 20-year-old Stephen Ira Beatty, has been openly transgender for years.
Now the two Mom’s are bonding over coffee swapping transgender stories and the challenges of being a Mom to transgender children. Neither feel their friends understand what is like to have a daughter become a man, so they have reached out to each other.
The Globe reports, “Cher and Annette have been calling and e-mailing each other and forth, sharing stories about the transgender topic. The both also enjoy reminiscing about their former baby girls childhood and sharing old photos.”
Consequently, Cher has become a good friend to Annette and a confident. Annette’s husband Warren is having trouble accepting their daughter wants to be a man. Annette needs someone to talk too and Cher has become someone she can confide it.
