Kendra Chantelle brought the sexy in tight leather pants last night on American Idol when she sang Christina Aguilera’s Impossible Tonight. Surprisingly she rocked it. Not that I don’t think she’s great, but I usually cringe when contestants take on Xtina’s songs. But Kendra owned it.

Naima Adedapo sang her favorite song, Summertime last night on American Idol. I think she did a good job. It might have been too old school for a lot of Idol fans, but she did it well even if Randy thought Fantasia’s version was better.

By the way, Naima designed that dress herself!

Last night on American Idol, the Top 12 girls got their turn to perform for America. Ta-Tynisa Wilson kicked things off with Rihanna’s Only Girl in the World and I feel like she completely butchered it. I never understand why they take bug hit songs from the big artists and do a crappy performance. Pick something that won’t swallow you up. It sounded very karaoke to me.

Paul McDonald is a big favorite here on Hollywood Hiccups. We love this guy. But we were surprised that he chose to do Maggie May again last night on American Idol. He does the song so well, but it’s time to change things up a bit. So we are looking forward to seeing what he will do next.

Jacob Lusk blew the judges away last night on American Idol singing, A House is Not a Home. There is no argument that he is a VERY gifted singer. I once again don’t believe he’s Idol material.

Stefano Langone was one of the only refreshing performances last night on American Idol. He totally owned Bruno Mars‘ Just the Way You Are and you know the female voters went nuts voting for him with those looks alone.

James Durbin did his usual rock n roll performance on American Idol last night. The guy has a great story, his pipes are great. I am just afraid that he’s not going to last because you can only do so much with that kind of singing. He’s not really Idol material.
