Venus Williams Drops Out Of U.S. Open, Diagnosed With Disease

Venus Williams was forced to drop out of the U.S. Open yesterday due to an illness that doctors have now diagnosed as Sjogren’s syndrome “that affects my energy level and causes fatigue and joint pain.” In her statement, she continued,

“I enjoyed playing my first match here and wish I could continue, but right now I am unable to,” Williams said in a statement. “I am thankful I finally have a diagnosis and am now focused on getting better and returning to the court soon.”

How disappointing for both sisters. She and Serena have both been battling health problems and are still so young and have plenty of years left in their careers.

Oscar De La Hoya: Latest Athlete To Uncover Dirty Past

Oscar De La Hoya is the latest pro athlete to come clean about his past. No longer the golden boy of boxing, he’s being honest about his road to recovery. The legend opened up to Univision saying,

“There were drugs, my drug of choice was cocaine and alcohol. Cocaine was recent. The last 2 years, last 2-and-a-half years and I depended more on the alcohol than the cocaine. We are obviously not talking Tiger Woods here, but I was unfaithful.”

So far he’s been clean for three months and is continuing his treatment on his way to being a clean, healthy member of society. He has even joined Alcoholics Anonymous.

It’s sad to see another “idol” fall. But he has proven again that even a bad@ss boxer is human and makes horrible mistakes. In fact, I think that the stars take the biggest falls since they are placed on such a high pedestal. It’s a tough life in a lot of ways.

We wish him well in his recovery and hope that from here on out, he will lead a healthy, clean lifestyle.

Javaris Crittenton Has Been Arrested in Orange County

As we had previously reported, former NBA - Washington Wizards player, Javaris Crittenton murdered a 22-year-old mother of three, Julian Jones. He then fled and has been running from the police/FBI ever since.

Well, last night he attempted to board a plane in Orange County, CA when authorities took him into custody. Of course his lawyer says that Crittenton was trying to fly back to Atlanta to turn himself in for the murder. Um, why do you tink that is okay, like it would work. You are a fugitive and you think you can FLY without being arrested. What a tool.

Anyhow, this guy is going to face a very long prison sentence… if not the death penalty. The victim’s family is going to want him put away forever.

I am glad they got fairly quickly anyhow. He wasn’t able to flee the country.

NBA: Javaris Crittenton Charged With MURDER, Fugitive On The Run

Former NBA player for the Washington Wizards, Javaris Crittenton has been charged with murder. He shot a 23-year woman/mother of three on August 19th in Atlanta. She was not the intended target, but he was attempting to kill someone he believed robbed him back in April.

The victim was taken into the hospital for emergency surgery for the gunshot wound to her hip, but she died on the operating table.

Crittenton is running as a fugitive like the slime that he is.

If you don’t remember, he’s the other NBA player that was busted for guns in the locker room with Gilbert Arenas.

Yeah, this guy is all kinds of stupid.

R.I.P. to the poor victim. Our thoughts are with her now motherless children.

OUCH! That is the first though that comes to mind when you lok at these photos of skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk. He was in the middle of a doubles session at Kona State Park in Florida yesterday when he wiped out and jacked up his front tooth pretty bad.

He Tweeted:

“Oops, doubles with Staab went wrong at Kona. Anyone know a good dentist in Savannah? <– not a joke.”

Now the update… he’s minus the tooth altogether. Ahhh!! He Tweeted the pic below with the caption:

“My new look.”

Do you think he’s really going to stay like that? Will he not get a fakey put in? OMG. I just can’t handle it. He looks like a hillbilly!

TN Vols Basketball Coach Pat Summit Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s Disease

The University of Tennessee loves their women’s basketball coach, Pat Summit (59.) She has led the to eight championships and is one of the great college basketball coaches ever. So when she announced that she’s been diagnosed with early onset dementia linked to Alzheimer’s disease, hearts broke everywhere.

Summit has no intention of stepping down any time soon either. She will continue to coach the Lady Vols while she is being treated for the disease via medication and mental exercises.

Summit was diagnosed with the disease early this summer at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Being the strong woman that she is, Summit will continue forward and fight the disease.

“Obviously, I realize I may have some limitations with this condition since there will be some good days and some bad days. For that reason I will be relying on my outstanding coaching staff like never before.”.

“There’s not going to be any pity party and I’ll make sure of that.”

Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease that I have witnessed more than once in my life and I hope and pray for the best for Pat Summit. I believe in miracles and that’s what all of her supporters need to be praying for.

LOOK: The Matt Hardy Mug Shot Is ALL WRONG

Former TNA wrestler, Matt Hardy was busted for DWI on Saturday after crashing his Corvette into a tree in the middle of the day. TNA wrestling didn’t hesitate to drop him from the organization following the arrest. It seems that he was already on suspension and this was the final straw. you can see the official statement HERE.

Well, TMZ finally got the mugshot up this morning and wow. Look at Matt’s face. His eyes say it all. I can’t believe that he was even awake behind the wheel…. oh wait, maybe he wasn’t. Maybe he passed out behind the wheel and that’s how he crashed into a tree.

Either way, when the results come back from his blood test regarding his BAC, he’s going to be totally screwed. I hope the judge throws the book at him. That is being a danger to society. Plain and simple.
