Wyclef Jean suffered a gunshot wound outside Port-au-Prince in Haiti yesterday. A bullet grazed his hand and landed him in the hospital.
Wyclef’s rep said,
“He’s fine now. It happened late yesterday night and he was released after a couple hours.”
The presidential elections are going down there today, so that is likely why the gunshot happened in the first place. Wyclef wanted to run for president their, but he couldn’t because he’s not a citizen. Makes sense.
Anyhow, they don’t know if that shot was meant for him or just a fluke.
UPDATE: TMZ just got this : Wyclef says he had just left his car, when he heard gunfire. He says the next thing he noticed … he saw blood on his shirt and shoes. He has no idea who fired shots or whether he was even the target.
