The Voice UK mentor, will.i.am has said that wants to line up friend and British pop star, Cheryl Cole to duet with Rihanna and Britney Spears in the near future to prepare her for international success. Cole, who recently unveiled A Million Lights in the UK – becoming the biggest-selling album of the year, has recently turned down to tour the US after releasing the album state side, to focus on her upcoming reunion with band mates of the group, Girls Aloud.
Rihanna was rumored to be featured on one of the singer’s songs when she released the album, but it was later denied and didn’t happen due to Ri’s busy schedule. However, will has said that he has already told Ri to make some time to duet with Cheryl as she’s a rising star.
“Britney would be great with Cheryl,” will.i.am said. “When I’m recording with Britney, I’ve four songs of Cheryl sitting there. I told Rihanna there was this girl called Cheryl Cole and she is the pop princess of England. I was telling people in America they should collaborate. Hopefully it will happen soon.”
Rihanna has been said to be recording new music material for another album – expected to be released at the end of the year.
