Katy Perry said that she could never devote herself to a heartbreak album about Russell Brand. The singer, who recently premiered her 3d concert movie, Katy Perry: Part of Me, in London doesn’t want to write a full album on heartbreak music because she’s in a “good place now” and wouldn’t want to get back to the bad memories she has with Brand.
“I’d never devote a whole record to heartbreak. I’m happy, I’m in a good place, I’m looking forward to my future,” Perry told The Sun. “If I could edit it any other way I would, but that is exactly the way it was.”
“I always had plans to make this record and usually with a record, you tour a record. Touring is always important to me. It’s like a big IOU to my fans, because I know they are the reason I exist. Then last year, in my relationship, it’s like I didn’t want to change,” she continued.
So, if you’re expecting to hear an Adele kind of album from Katy any time soon, it’s not happening, despite what the tabloids have been claiming: “I wanted to stay as a performer who has so much love for my fans, and I don’t want to ever think I would have to choose between them.”
