It took me a while to move past the heartbreak and shock that was the division of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp, but they’re moving on just fine! Johnny Depp has been seen stateside with several different women on his arm and now a source is reporting that Vanessa has turned to former French first lady (wife of President Nicolas Sarkozy) and singer Carla Bruni. If you’ve heard “On me dit” then you know it’s the perfect break up song, and now she and Benjamin Biolay, an ex-lover of Carla, can enjoy it together!
Karl Lagerfeld, currently the creative director for the brand Chanel, has introduced the couple, and since then they’ve been making beautiful music—for his new album! They were first seen together in April, and Vanessa has since opened up about her and Johnny, telling Harper’s Bazaar, “sometimes you could be unhappy in a relationship. You are very much in love with someone, but it’s making you unhappy and you think things can change and you can work it out.” Obviously the change she needed was a full-fledged split.
She also hinted at the success of her current relationship. “Love is the strongest and most fragile thing we have in life. Nothing is ever for sure, but when something in love doesn’t work from the beginning, it’s never going to work. Don’t push it.” If that isn’t a clue that their love is strong, I don’t know what to make of it! Of course, this could be rebound, as she and Johnny were together for 14 years, and one doesn’t simply wake up “over” it!
