Kate Middleton must be feeling really good because just two days after delivering an 8 pound 6 ounce son she is on the move for a second time. Yesterday she and Prince William introduced the world to their baby in a precious few minutes that seemed absolutely perfect for this low key couple. We watched William drive his wife and son home to Kensington Palace where Queen Elizabeth was formally introduced to her great-grandson.
Now less than 24 hours after leaving the hospital the new family is on the move yet again. William strapped the un-named Prince’s car seat into the back of a black Range Rover and after Kate hopped into the back seat beside her baby, William drove shotgun. Where are they headed? To Bucklebury so that Kate can spend quality time with her family and also so that the Middletons can assist her with new motherhood when Prince William eventually returns to work.It has been rumored that Kate is expected to recover and earn her new mom stripes for the rest of the summer in Bucklebury. It seems to be just another example of this couple finding the balance between following royal protocol and trying their hardest to remain as normal as possible. In years past it would be unthinkable for a newborn heir to be anywhere other than safely tucked behind palace gates.
Obviously, security in Bucklebury will be tight, but Kate has been allowed to make a huge decision for herself and her child. That kind of sets the tone for how she and William will parent, don’t you think? It already looks like they will insist on how their son is raised and while they will respect royal wishes, they won’t necessarily follow them to the letter!
