Benedict Cumberbatch Talks Sherlock Season 3
We still don’t know when the third season of Sherlock will air, but we know the actors have wrapped filming completely. While Benedict Cumberbatch was promoting his many films at the Toronto Film Festival [he’s in The Fifth Estate, August: Osage County, and Twelve Years a Slave], he discussed Sherlock with The Guardian.
He explained, “There’s a reunion that doesn’t necessarily go to plan. And there’s a bonding experience that throws Sherlock and Watson back together in a very firm way. And there’s a new union as well, in the shape of a marriage, which Sherlock takes part in, so we see that.”
He also says that he ‘misses’ Sherlock, even though it’s incredibly hard work to play him. Cumberbatch and his co-star Martin Freeman are reportedly locked in for another season – Season 4 – and then it will probably be the end for the show; or at least, with both of them starring.
So far, we’ve only received a teaser for Sherlock, but not much news beyond that. Are you guys excited for the premiere, and do you have any theories about the season? We know John will be getting married, and Sherlock will be his best man – and we know Mads Mikkelsen will be playing the villain.
