Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner have officially separated, something that’s been rumored for a long time but only confirmed earlier this week. Bruce and Kris both released a joint statement when announcing the separation, and they both stated that they were happier living this way and that the separation wouldn’t affect their family. Obviously, their family members already knew that Bruce and Kris were separated, and the public clearly guessed it. However, even though the tabloids and several sources say otherwise, Bruce and Kris are apparently on amicable speaking terms and are trying their best to make this transition smooth for everyone involved.
A source explained, “[They] remain on good terms and have no plan to divorce at this time.” Kris also said in her statement, “We ended a marriage, but that’s not the end of our friendship. I will always love him, but we are longer a couple in that way. We are happier this way.”
Obviously, the real reason that they’re staying on speaking terms and trying not to raise hell is because of their reality show. While drama and dysfunction is the lifeblood of the reality show industry [especially Keeping up with the Kardashians], there’s only so much a family can handle before it implodes. That being said, Kris is probably ecstatic that she’s in the limelight for once, something that rarely happens. Kris also revealed in the accompanying cover interview with US Weekly that while she’s still staying ‘married’ to Bruce, it’s only because of the lack of prenup and the popularity of their brand.
