Lea Michele Discusses Coping With Cory Monteith’s Death In Elle Magazine

It’s been four months since Cory Monteith died, leading to devastating consequences for his loved ones. Lea Michele covers the latest issue of Elle Magazine, and opens up about coping in the aftermath of Cory’s death.

Lea explains that Kate Hudson was a big part in helping her get through Cory’s death, saying, “I called her and said, I don’t know where I’m going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters]. She was like, ‘Oh, you’re going to stay at my house.’ Like it was nothing.”

She adds, “She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices. I’ll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me.” For all we say about A-list celebrities, they do understand the consequences of being in the spotlight, and are definitely empathetic in that regard. Although Cory’s death is obviously a lot more serious and devastating, when Kristen Stewart‘s cheating scandal first leaked, Reese Witherspoon housed Robert Pattinson in her private estate as well.

Lea also explains that she knows that Cory would have wanted her to use this situation and help other people in need, but she also adds that she doesn’t know if she has it in her. Cory was a huge advocate for at-risk youth in Vancouver, and even though he couldn’t save himself, he definitely made a different in the lives of many others. His legacy will be upheld, but for Lea, I don’t know that she’ll ever truly get over his passing.
