Dancing With the Stars 2014 Week 4 "Switch Up" Spoilers

Episode 1804 is about to be a historic one for ABC’s hit reality competition show, Dancing with the Stars. This past week, voters were given the choice to ask for a change in the celebrity dance pairings, and due to enough people voting for the change, it will now be instituted during DWTS’ next episode.

We reportedly won’t get an advance notice on the new couples, as they will be revealed live during the actual episode itself, but we have some rumors for you of the pairings. The show will reportedly begin with an opening number featuring the entire cast, and then lead to each celebrity trying out a different dance move with their new partner.

Here are some rumors that are floating around about the pair ups: Meryl/Derek, Danica/Maks, Amy/Mark, Val/NeNe, Candace/Tony, Charlie /Cheryl, James/Witney, Cody/Peta and Drew/Sharna.

And in addition to the partner change, Julianne Hough will also return to guest judge, along with regulars Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Len Goodman.

This rule change ought to make for an interesting episode, since this has never, ever happened before in DWTS history, despite the show having been on air for so many seasons. The popularity of DWTS has certainly shot through the roof over the past few years, and viewers and voters have gotten more say in the show than ever before. However, I doubt the celebrities or their partners are very happy about this – they’re used to practicing with their specific partners, and it will probably be difficult for them to build the same level of comfort with their new partners so quickly. No doubt, we’ll see some sloppy dancing coming up in this next episode.

What do you guys think about the rule change? Are you excited or do you want it to go back to its normal routine as soon as possible? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
