Miley Cyrus is the cover girl for the May 2014 issue of Elle Magazine. Miley sat down with Tavi Gevinson to speak about everything that was on her mind. One of the things that bothers Miley is the double standards between men and women. Miley considers herself a feminist and explained what that meant. She said, “I’m just about equality, period. It’s not like, I’m a woman, women should be in charge! I just want there to be equality for everybody.
She does not believe that as a women there is equality and gives the following example, ” I still don’t think we’re there 100 percent. I mean, guy rappers grab their crotch all fucking day and have hos around them, but no one talks about it. But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model bitches around me, I’m degrading women? I’m a woman—I should be able to have girls around me! But I’m part of the evolution of that. I hope.”
If Miley thinks femininity is the the ability to be overtly sexually obscene than the girl needs a reality check. Another reason I avoid interviews by brainless celebrities.
If you must read more of the interview, head over to Elle.
