Finally, the powers-that-be are making a decision that seems to make some sense. After years of drastic changes and various judging panels, each of which have moderately failed, American Idol is going to look and feel a whole lot more familiar. Producers are aiming to recapture a bit of the original magic that made the show absolutely huge for its first 8 years — and that means bringing back some familiar faces.
According to the June 23rd print edition of The National Enquirer, producers have managed to get Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson to sign on the dotted line one last time. Simon will make an estimated $15 million and Paula is set to make double what she originally did during Idol’s heyday.
Apparently, Fox wants the show to go out on a high note and they really understand that the fans loved watching these three interact each week. They are counting on it to work again and are banking that this reunion will bring back all the viewers who drifted away from the show.
Do you think that this is the best way for American Idol to wrap up, with Simon, Paula, and Randy sitting at that judging table once again? Will seeing them reunite provide enough nostalgi to motivate you guys to watch Idol’s final season, or is there absolutely nothing that could make you sit through another year? Should Idol have been canceled years ago like many have said or are you kind of glad to learn that this reunion panel is a possibly in the works?
