Jennifer Lopez And Mariah Carey Feud: Mariah Started It, J Lo Insinuates!

Jennifer Lopez‘s alleged feud with Mariah Carey was infamous for dominating headlines in the early 2000s, especially at a time where the Internet gossip and celebrity culture was exploding. However, Jennifer revealed in a recent interview [during Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen] that she never held any hard feelings towards Mariah over their ‘feud’.

She claimed, “I don’t have a feud against her at all. I know from back in the day, I’ve read things that she’s said about me that were not the greatest, but we have never met. Like, we don’t know each other. I think it’s kind of from word of mouth of things that have happened in the past that I’m not really aware of. But I don’t know.”

Well, that’s quite passive aggressive, no? Jennifer’s being as diplomatic as she can possibly be in this situation, but it’s clear that she’s also trying to say that it was Mariah who started the feud, not her.

Forget their feud going back even a decade, Mariah didn’t even giving J.Lo a standing ovation in front of everyone during her performance on American Idol, and that was with the entire country watching! And don’t tell me that Mariah didn’t know what she was doing – she very well knew exactly what she was doing. She knew that people would notice her refusing to stand and give a standing ovation, especially since everybody else was doing it. It was a pointed diss, and Jennifer’s response was actually extremely mature considering that.

Jennifer recently broke up with Casper Smart, so I can see why she’s being careful not to start any more drama, especially drama that could land her on the front page of a tabloid. She’s right in the middle of a drastic career relaunch, so she’s obviously not trying to anger anybody.
