Teresa Giudice was sentenced to fifteen months of jail time last week, and it’s only a matter of time before Bravo officially fires her from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
See, Teresa’s now a convicted felon and will be doing actual jail time for her crimes, along with her husband Joe Giudice. Bravo is taking full advantage of the media circus surrounding Teresa Giudice right now, but there’s only so long they can drag out the drama – especially since she’ll be going to jail at the beginning of January.
As such, it’s not surprising to hear that the network has commissioned a Christmas special for The Real Housewives of New Jersey. This will reportedly allow Teresa an opportunity to say good-bye to all of her fans and to the show, and it will give Bravo one last boost before saying sayonara to the Teresa Giudice saga once and for all.
Plus, it’s not like they can fire her now, especially with the media and public interest at a fever pitch. All the interviews that Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice have been doing are raising interest in RHONJ, and they would have to be stupid to fire Teresa now. No, they will instead take advantage of her contract for the next few months, and milk her PR for all its worth. They have already filmed all the cast members’ reactions to Teresa’s sentence, and sent Teresa on a faux-promotional tour discussing her jail sentence. So far, it’s been ratings gold for Bravo, but how much longer can that last?
They’re doing the smart thing by setting a timeline for Teresa Giudice’s exit, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear an official statement about her exit after this Christmas special.
