Rumors are spreading like wildfire that Katy Perry and John Mayer are back together after the duo had dinner together recently.
They dated for quite some time already before calling it quits, but perhaps this time will be forever? They reportedly called time on their relationship in the past because of her gruelling tour schedule, but that may no longer be an issue for the singers.
“They’re two very strong-willed people,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “Despite caring about each other very much and wanting to make it work, they are, at their core, quite different.”
So is their on-and-off relationship back on?
“They actually buried the hatchet a while back, and they are friends,” a Perry source tells PEOPLE, adding that the outing might not necessarily signal a rekindled romance.
“It’s not a surprise they would see each other socially,” the source added. “She’s focused on her career and making herself happy.”
