Bruce Jenner may or may not have been responsible for the fatal car crash on Saturday that led to a woman’s death, but he is apologizing for it. Well, he’s releasing a statement about it, anyway.
Via his publicist, Jenner stated, “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them.”
Initially, it was reported that Bruce was speeding, smoking, and texting, all negligent behavior that led to him crashing into a white Lexus in front of him – which then led the Lexus to go into oncoming traffic and get rammed by a Hummer, which caused the driver of the Lexus to die on impact.
However, now it’s being reported that another car, a Prius, might have stopped in front of the Lexus first, causing the multi-car pileup. It’s still unclear who stopped first and when, but it seemed that Bruce was trying to avoid the Prius and then ended up crashing into the Lexus by mistake, which led to the car crash. Plus, Bruce’s publicist claims that he was absolutely not texting before the crash, which they’re willing to prove by providing phone and texting records.
At the end of the day, this is an extremely tragic incident, and we should be careful about blaming anybody before finding out the full truth. Because Bruce Jenner is a controversial media figure – especially right now, in the wake of all the sex change news – he’s getting blamed irrationally for causing the accident, which we can thank the media for. But the latest updates show that he might not have been solely responsible for the accident.
