Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are married, but that doesn’t mean that their marriage is happy. Let’s be real – when has Cameron Diaz ever been in a ‘happy’ relationship for a long time?
A new report from Star Magazine claims that Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have already started taking marriage counseling, but as a ‘preventative measure’ more than something that’s absolutely necessary and essential. Um, is it just me or is taking marriage counseling as a ‘preventative measure‘ completely ridiculous? The whole point of marriage counseling is that it serves as a way to bring two people back together, not keep them together when they’re supposed to be in the honeymoon phase of their relationship.
Star’s source tries to explain by stating, “They didn’t know each other very long before getting married, and they want to avoid any potential stumbling blocks that may pop up.”
Well, if marriage counseling is an idea that they’re both open to and interested in, then good for them. The fact that they didn’t know each other very well and/or might not be compatible is something that should have occurred before marriage, not after. But at this point, if marriage counseling doesn’t fix their issues, then nothing will.
Plus, Cameron Diaz is notorious for breaking up with people on a very short notice, so this might serve as a wake-up call for her. If nothing else, at least it will allow her to last longer with Benji Madden than she usually does with her significant others. Plus, marriage counseling is usually helpful to most couples, even if it’s not technically necessary within the first few months of marriage.
