‘Fifty Shades Darker’ First Teaser Trailer – Quick Glimpse Of Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey

Fifty Shades Darker

Fifty Shades of Grey‘ came out in February and broke box office records, surprising even the most seasoned box office prognosticator. Everyone had assumed that the film would be a success, but I don’t think anyone quite predicted how gargantuan the success would be. And of course, the sequel – ‘Fifty Shades Darker‘ – was greenlit immediately.

And now, the first teaser trailer for ‘Fifty Shades Darker‘ has been released, even though it’s only 30 seconds long and features a very short glimpse into the movie.

The clip features Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey putting on one of his suits and then a masquerade mask, with the text flashing, “Are you ready for something darker?”

We have yet to see Dakota Johnson’s Anastasia Steele, but they’re probably waiting until filming commences to release any more sneak peaks. After all, the majority of the fan base for these movies salivates over Christian Grey, not much else…

Sam Taylor-Johnson and screenwriter Kelly Marcel will not be returning to direct and script Fifty Shades Darker, reportedly because of creative disagreements with the author, E.L. James. Instead, E.L. James’ husband Niall Leonard will take over scripting duties for the sequel, so now it’s a fully family affair.

A director for Fifty Shades Darker has yet to be announced, but the movie will reportedly be released on February 10th, 2017. Universal probably figured that releasing these movies around Valentine’s Day is the most effective marketing strategy, especially as there’s very minimal competition around that time and the built-in romance tagline.

What do you guys think of the teaser trailer for Fifty Shades Darker? I don’t even think calling this a teaser ‘trailer’ is accurate, since it doesn’t really feature any footage from the actual movie. Once the director is announced and the cast commences filming, then we’re bound to get a more detailed sneak peak.
