Game of Thrones Season 5, Episode 4 Review ‘Sons of the Harpy’

Jorah puts Tyrion on boat.

Jaime is with Bronn headed to get Marcella. They talk about wanting to be remembered over a meal that consist of snake when they die.

Meanwhile Cersei manages to run King Landing almost into the ground. Cersei thinks she is the brightest crayon in the box. Cersei actually puts High Sparrow in charge all for the sake of one upping her new daughter in law Margaery. Cersei even goes as far as sending Margaerys brother to Bravvos under the guise of doing business with the Iron Bank. Pycell takes note of the fact that the already small council continues to get smaller. Cersei spots out that it isn’t small enough.

High Sparrow actually takes in Margaery’s brother for nothing other than the fact he is gay.

Margaery is pissed and she rages at her not Joffery husband to fix the problem and his mother. So off Tommen goes to pitifully implore his mommy to let him do the ruling. Cersei soothingly tells him that if he wants to free Margearys brother he can seeing as how he is the King. Tommen goes to High Sparrows to have her brother released. Tommen is told by his guards that he either put up or shut up. Tommen decides to shut up and he leaves. When Tommen returns home and tells his wife he didn’t get her brother released Margaery becomes upset and leaves to be with her family.

Meanwhile Jon Snow is dealing with some problems of his own. Jon is signing papers that will allow more men to join the watch. Melisandre wonders in she wants him to stand with Stannis and march with him to Winterfell. Jon Snow tells her he has no desire for him or his men to be involved in the war of the Seven Kingdoms. Melisandre insist the only war to be fought is between life and death. When all her preaching doesn’t sway she decides to try another tactic. Melisandre attempts to get Jon Snow into bed. She probably would have succeeded to of it wasn’t for the fact Jon remembered Ygritte and his love for her. Jon tells her he will not break the vow he made when joined the Nights Watch. Melisandre having been rebuffed heads out of Jon Snows room. Before she steps out she stops and tells him he knows nothing.

Stannis gets a visit from his daughter Shireen. Shireen tells her dad she is bored. Stannis tells her that his father once told him that boredom was a sign of a lack of inner resources. Shireen ask her dad if he was bored a lot too. When Shireen tells Stannis that her mother told her that she didn’t want her to come Stannis goes into protective mode and tells Shireen her mother had no business saying that. Shireen ask her dad if he is ashamed of her. Stannis walks over to her and tells her about how she had greyscale. Stannis tells her that he bought her a doll and how she would put the doll up against her cheek. Stannis tells her by the time they realized the connection between the sickness and the doll and had it burned it was already to late. Stannis tells her everyone told his she was going to die or suffer first and then die. He tells people,told her to send her to love with the stone men. Stannis tells her instead he brought all the healers he could find and they stopped the greyscale. Stannis tells her she didn’t belong across the world with the bloody stone men because she is the princess of the House of Baratheon and she is his daughter. Shireen hugs her father.

Petyr finds Sansa in the crypt at Winterfell. Petyr tells her that when Stannis removes the Boltons from power she will be named the Wardeness of the North since she is the last remaining Stark. He tells her take care with her role as Ramsey’ Bolton’s wife. Petyr says she must make Ramsey hers. Sansa insist she doesn’t know how to do what he is asking of her. Petyr tells her that Ramsey has already fallen in love with her.

Jaime and Bronn end up having to fight four men.

Ellaria who is hell bent on revenge for the death of her lover Oberyn is doing everything in her power to make sure Marcella does not get rescued by Jaime since she is all she has in her fight against the Lannisters.

Tyrion who is being taken to Daenery by Jorah points out that duh he was already on his way there before he got hijacked. After a bit of this and that Tyrian puts two and two together and figures out Jorah is his kidnapper or is it dwarf napper? Jorah who has a terrible temper on a good day smacks Tyrion upside his head so that he will zip it.

Speaking of Daenerys she won’t change her decision to reinstate the city’s tradition of fighting.

The Sons of Harpy attack by trapping several people In a building. They kill them all and then continue the killing throughout the city. Grey Worm almost gets killed but is saved by Ser Barristan. They work together and do away with several of the Sons. Ser Barristan gets stabbed multiple times but isn’t dead just yet.
