‘Days Of Our Lives’ News: DOOL Casting New Character Named Deanna – African American Woman In Her 20’s

'Days Of Our Lives' News: DOOL Casting New Character Named Deanna – African American Woman In Her 20’s‘Days Of Our Lives’ news that the NBC soap opera is casting a new character – a woman named Deanna, 25-30 years old. The all new ‘DOOL’ casting call stresses that the daytime drama is searching for an African American actress to take on the recurring role.

‘Days’ spoilers from Soap Opera Digest tease, “Deanna is a confident, edgy, strong, intelligent female. She has overcome obstacles in her past that make her the strong independent woman she is today. In her chosen field, vulnerability is a liability so her tough exterior can sometimes make her hard to read. She is sexy and knows how to have fun and craves a little danger to keep things interesting.”

The keywords in the new ‘DOOL’ casting call are “in her chosen field.” If “vulnerability is a liability” and Deanna has a “tough exterior” – it sounds like she may have something to do with law enforcement, maybe a cop or lawyer? The NBC soap opera just fired Sal Stowers, who played the part of Salem officer Lani Price. ‘DOOL’ fans weren’t too happy with the casting decision, if they wanted a female cop at Salem PD – couldn’t they have just kept Stowers’ character Lani?

It is unclear whether or not Deanna has any pre-existing ties to Salem. But, the ‘DOOL’ rumor mill is already working in over-drive, and a popular theory on social media is that Deanna may be related to Valerie Grant. The NBC soap opera sent out a casting call for the character Valerie, the last time she was spotted on ‘Days Of Our Lives’ was back in 1982. The character was played by Tina Andrew from 1975-1977, and then by Dianne Sommerfield from 1981-1982.
