General Hospital star Vernee Watson (Stella Henry)is still glowing over her win at this year’s daytime Emmy for Special Guest Performer and better yet, she’s sharing her joys with those around her. In fact, she wants to teach the future generation of actors and actresses that if you want to become successful in the cut throat business that is in the entertainment industry, you definitely need a whole lot of talent and you also need to put a whole lot of hard work in, too. That’s why she hopes her win will inspire those around her to do exactly that.
In fact, Vernee told ABC Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “I’m especially grateful, because I teach children and this will give them something to work towards – and I’m so hard on those kids.”
Little do many people know, but Vernee has actually been an acting coach for more than 25 years, and it’s a job that she definitely takes seriously. She helps young talent find their footing while also writing and directing plays and presenting seminars and workshops for The H.E.A.R.T. and Fox Studio performing arts school.
Vernee adds, “And I don’t play! I actually taught a class the morning of the Emmys and they drove me crazy before I got there. You’ve got to have respect for the business and you’ve got to do your homework. Hopefully, this will install that in them.”
