Alaskan Bush People: Matt Brown Doesn’t Want A Sober Coach Anymore
The Brown Family of “Alaskan Bush People” is now facing another challenge as the oldest son Matt Brown is reportedly refusing to have a sober coach.
It was revealed last month that Matt left his in-patient rehabilitation facility after 30 days of seeking professional help for his alcohol addiction. According to some reports, his family had concerns about his move as he might not have received the help he needed to overcome his addiction issues.
A source revealed that Matt was doing great after he checked himself out of the rehab facility last October and was committed to remaining sober. Now, it would seem that he is not doing well as fans had hoped for.
This was not his first time as he also struggled with the same problem in the past and entered rehab back in 2016. He started struggling with substance abuse when he began to spend time in the nearby city of Juneau, Alaska, after his family boat broke down.
In an interview with PEOPLE earlier this year, he said, “I struggle with substance abuse, and after a year of ups and downs, I decided to return to treatment. I’m really grateful for everyone’s support and hope to have my life back on track soon.”

Matt reportedly started to drink again after his mom was diagnosed with cancer. When he decided to get help, he originally signed up for a 90-day stint at the rehab but ended up checking himself out only after 30 days. Now, he is putting his foot down as his family tries to talk him to get the help of a sober coach.
Per Radar Online, a source who is close to the family said Matt “thinks that going to meetings and working with a therapist is enough. But his family wants him to have someone there with him 24/7 to make sure he stays clean.” However, Billy is insistent that he should have a sober coach.

Matt’s other six siblings are also at odds with him and are siding with their mom and dad on this issue. According to the insider, Matt’s brothers and sisters have always sought out his advice since he was their big brother. Now, things are different. They are the ones trying to do everything to make sure that their brother stays on the right track.
