When the Winter Finale ended, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Beth were not on good terms. Randall refused to give up his dream of a career in politics and Beth wanted him to quit. This is after, Beth overheard Randall imply he gave her a pity job in his campaign.
Beth has not been feeling like herself since she lost her job. She loved working and felt like it gave her a purpose. When she was fired and couldn’t get another job, it really depressed her.
