One Life To Live Alum Sherri Saum Joins Netflix’s Locke & Key

Soap alum Sherri Saum has been cast for a major role in Netflix’s new adaptation, “Locke & Key.” Saum is known for her roles in daytime soaps, “Sunset Beach” as Vanessa Hart and “One Life to Live” as Keri Reynolds.

In an exclusive report of TV Line, Sherri Saum will be playing the character named Ellie Whedon. Ellie Whedon is a teacher at Matheson Academy and she has a mysterious history with the Locke family.

“Locke & Key” is a 10-episode series to be released on Netflix. It will be executive produced by Carlton Cuse, Joe Hill, and Meredith Averill. Hill created the original comic where the series will be based.

The comics-based drama series tells the story of three siblings whose father was murdered so they moved to Massachusetts. They discovered that their new house has magical keys that give each of them a special ability. However, a demon is after the magical keys and is willing to do whatever it takes to take them from the siblings.

The release date of “Locke & Key” is yet to be announced. Sherri Saum will star alongside Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones and Jackson Robert Scott, who was cast in December. They will play the characters of the three siblings, as Tyler, Kinsey and Bode, respectively.

Sherri’s Previous Credits

In a Twitter post, Meredith Averill, who is also a co-showrunner alongside Cuse, welcomes Saum to the upcoming series. “So excited to welcome @SherriSaum1 to LOCKE & KEY!”

In response, Sherri said it was a dream come true to be part of the Netflix series. Aside from “Sunset Beach” and “One Life to Live,” Sherri Saum currently stars in “The Fosters” as Lena Adams Foster since 2013. Her other credits include “Beggars and Choosers” (1999-2001), “Rescue Me” (2006-2007), “Gossip Girl” (2009-2010), and “In Treatment” (2009). She also appeared in “The Librarians,” “Code Black,” “How to Get Away With Murder,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “CSI: NY,” “CSI: Miami,” and “Army Wives.”
