The Young and the Restless News: Melody Thomas Scott Wants Doug Davidson Back, Fans Miss Paul Williams

It looks like The Young and the Restless fans aren’t the only ones who are hoping to see this daytime veteran actor return to the small screen. As a matter of fact, actress Melody Scott Thomas, who plays Nikki on the hit CBS show, told her Twitter followers that she would love to see Doug Davidson back on the soap. Doug, who played private investigator Paul Williams in Genoa City since 1978, was unexpectedly let go late last year.
Y&R Fans Want Doug Davidson To Return
When one fan shared a throwback photo of Melody and Doug together, the beautiful blonde responded with, “I’ll never stop dreaming… Let’s make this happen! Love you and miss you, my first and forever-classic Genoa City partner in crime! Love you, my Dougie! Xo”
And it seems like a lot of her Twitter followers agree as they commented on the post with, “We won’t give up Melody and Doug! We need you back, we love you and miss you, Doug Davidson! The Young and the Restless got rid of too many mainstay characters.”
Another fan wrote, “We have lost so much Young and the Restless writers and managers. Bring back Doug, this is ridiculous we (fans) have supported the show for years, give us back a member from the past. We need him, especially now!”

Will New Regime Bring Doug Back?
Tell us, would you like to see Doug Davidson back in Genoa City? Now that head executive producer and writer Mal Young has stepped down and there’s a new team behind the scenes, there’s a very good chance that some old fan favorites will be coming back.
