The Bold and the Beautiful Casting Spoilers: Thomas Forrester Returns— Matthew Atkinson Takes Over The Role

The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) casting news reveals that the new Thomas Forrester has been cast. Last month, Soap Opera Digest posted last month that CBS was actively looking for the new Thomas. It looks like they found their guy and he will be debuting as Thomas in March.
The New Thomas
Matthew Atkinson will be the new Thomas Forrester. If his name rings a bell that’s because he played on The Young and the Restless as Austin Travers. Austin was Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) husband. After his murder (remember the cabin murders), Summer found out her “loyal” husband was cheating on her with her aunt Abby (Melissa Ordway). Needless to say, it caused some trust issues between them for quite a while.
Thomas is currently in New York with Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey) and their son Douglas. Hopefully, when he comes back to LA, we’ll get a heated confrontation between Thomas and Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) over the Caroline is dying lie.
Atkinson told Soap Opera Digest that this role was a long time coming He is thrilled to be joining the cast of Bold and the Beautiful. Apparently, a few years ago when Pierson Fode took over the role, Matthew auditioned for Thomas Forrester. This time, he said he knew the casting staff at CBS and it was clear early on he was going to be the new Thomas or is that NuThomas?

Matthew Will Do Great
One take away from seeing him on The Young and the Restless is he will do wonderful on the soapy series. He can pull off super dramatic scenes and he is able to get emotional when necessary. He is an excellent casting choice for B&B.
