General Hospital Recap Wednesday, February 20th: Kevin And Laura Catch Up — Franco Goes To Court

Welcome to your Wednesday, February 20  General Hospital recap! We begin our day at the hospital where Peter (Wes Ramsey) is asking how Maxie (Kirsten Storms) got a DNA sample of Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), she reminds him of the fingernail clippings she stole. She also says she swiped Nina’s DNA from her coffee cup.

Maxie Investigates

Maxie is feeling guilty about investigating Sasha, but determined to follow through. Peter says how much Valentin loves Nina, even if he’s telling a lie. Maxie wants the results rushed but it will take 10 days. She finds that there’s a clinic they can go to and Peter offers to drive her.

Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is “pinching himself’ that Nina (Michelle Stafford) said yes to the wedding proposal. Sasha walks in.

Nina says how much she likes her nail polish and they discuss the upcoming nuptials. Alexis shows up at Kelly’s and says hello to the table. Nina says to Alexis she wants to change her will to include all of her loved ones.

Once they are alone, Valentin says he knows that Sasha tried to stop the wedding. At the bar, Alexis is talking to Nina about her reasons for marrying Valentin again. Julian enters Kelly’s and he sees Alexis. They chat uncomfortably and Valentin says that what they “had” was never a mistake.

Oscar And Joss Plan Their Trip

Oscar (Garren Stitt) and Josslyn (Eden Mccoy) are at Kelly’s and he complains that the DMV won’t give him a permit to drive due to his medical condition. Josslyn says they can still make the road trip happen. Josslyn and Oscar show up at Cameron’s house with food and tell him the road trip may be off.

There’s a knock at the door – a new character Trina (Tiana Le) comes in. She appears to be Josslyn’s friend from school. They are all eating and Trina apologizes for getting Cameron in trouble for the pot bust. The kids decide to take a road trip to Niagra Falls.

Cameron Is Furious

At Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) house she’s talking to Cameron (William Lipton) and saying how proud she is of him. She tells Cameron that she went to the police station last night and got married.

“Franco and I are husband and wife,” Liz Says.  Cameron gets upset and says, “Mom – are you out of your mind!!?”

He’s worried about his brothers and says what if Franco is the killer? Elizabeth yells back and says she believes Franco. The mom/son scenes with these two are so well done!

Franco’s Court Case Begins

At the police station, Jordan (Brianna Nicole Henry) is asking how Franco (Roger Howarth) is feeling. He says Elizabeth and the boys are his whole world. Scotty (Kin Shriner) shows up and tells Franco to “tell the truth and he will handle the rest.”

At the courthouse, all the main players are there – Elizabeth, Lulu, Franco, Alexis, Jordan, Scotty, and Margaux. Lulu is super angry that Elizabeth married Franco.

The trial begins where the murders are listed and the attack on Lulu. The judge asks Franco – how does he plea, Franco says, “guilty to all charges.”

Everyone is mortified, especially Elizabeth. Scotty argues that Franco needs to be evaluated for mental health. The judge says Franco has to go to Ferncliff for two weeks for an evaluation. Ava and Lulu discuss that something feels off about the whole situation.

Ava Leans On ‘Kevin’

Ava (Maura West) leaves a voicemail message for “Kevin” (Jon Lindstrom) wondering where he is, they are supposed to meet for Franco’s arraignment. She runs into Julian (William DeVry) who says it feels like Kevin is taking over her life. Ava says Kevin is the only thing keeping her sane right now. Ava is at the courthouse and Ryan appears.

Laura And Kevin Find Each Other

At Ferncliff Laura (Genie Francis) wakes up on the floor of a random room. Kevin is also lying on the floor, she goes over and they embrace. Ryan walks up and says “that’s so touching, does anyone have a tissue?”

Jon Lindstrom plays evil so well and is obviously loving this role! Ryan is messing with them and says they are in the basement of Ferncliff. He says, “Can you hear that? It’s voices from the past. Welcome to hell, enjoy your stay.”

Laura says he never should have been born. Ryan admits that he did all 3 killings and almost killed Lulu. Laura calls him a “sick son of a bitch, a monster!”

He says that he needs her to call Lulu, he has a script for her. A blind Kevin and Laura say how much they miss each other. Laura tells Kevin that his blindness should be curable. She begins to explain that ever since she came back from Paris months ago, everything has been weird.

Laura says she worried about Ava and if Ryan will kill her. Laura tells Kevin that she loves him and asks him how long he’s been at Ferncliff. Laura figures out that she saw Kevin when she and Carly investigated the facility, many months ago.

Elizabeth approaches Franco at the bench and says “Why?” – then she smacks him so hard you can feel it! She’s thrown the wedding rings at him and runs out.

As always, more detailed spoilers and a full collection of pictures for the week in question will appear on Soap Opera Spy, where there will be more clues and hints over exactly what’s going on.

Joes Two Cents:

• I’m loving that Kevin and Laura are reunited
• I’m enjoying the dynamic of the teens – remind me of old GH
• Nina is going to be in a world of hurt when the truth comes out
• The Franco story bothers me, I wish he had told Liz about the plan
