The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, March 4 – Phyllis’ Testimony Goes Bad – Summer’s A Match For Lola
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Monday, March 4, tease that Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will continue his cross-examination of Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes). Mariah will respond to Michael’s question about the video by explaining that the sender of the video was anonymous. Michael will find it odd that she never told any of the defendants about the video, and Mariah will volunteer that no one from Dark Horse sent the video to her. Michael will want to know how she knows that.
Brittany Questions Mariah
Brittany Hodges (Lauren Woodward) will take her turn to question Mariah, and she tries to make it seem like the defendants moving the rug was related to the “fact” that the women were purging Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) closet.
At the recess, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will question Michael’s strategy of pressuring Mariah but then backing off, but Michael will claim he was just laying the groundwork in the event they have to expose Tessa Porter’s (Cait Fairbanks) blackmail.

Michael Will Turn On Mariah?
Meanwhile, Brittany will tell Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) that Michael won’t hesitate to sacrifice Mariah and Tessa if it helps Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria’s case. Simultaneously, Mariah will tell Tessa that if the truth comes out about the video, then they’re both going down.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will complain to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Kerry Johnson (Alice Hunter) that Victoria doesn’t deserve any of this and it’s all Phyllis Summers’ (Gina Tognoni) fault.
Phyllis Saves Herself
Outside the courtroom, Phyllis will arrive and tell Nick that she’ll do everything she can to put an end to this. Summer Newman will confer with her mom and Nick will argue with Summer about whether Phyllis is doing this for the right reasons, and he’ll remark that she’s just saving herself. Back in the courtroom, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will confess to Jack that she feels terrible about Victoria going through JT Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) abuse all alone.
Once the trial starts again, Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) will question Phyllis, who will describe JT’s abuse of Victoria and how Nikki was devastated to hear about it. She’ll go through the events of girls’ night, and Christine will do her best to twist everything Phyllis says to make the defendants look bad. Phyllis will yell at Christine, saying that she’s twisting everything.
Phyllis Reveals JT Abuse
Phyllis will be forced to admit that in the past Victoria had hit JT, and she’ll be faced to demonstrate that JT was facing away from Nikki when Nikki hit him with the fireplace poker. Phyllis will try to explain that it was self-defense, but the judge will cut her off. Christine will point out that Nikki didn’t ask JT to stop before she hauled off and hit him. It will all end with Christine yelling that “that’s not self-defense – that’s vengeance – that’s murder!”

Phylllis’ Testimony Crumbles
Michael will then cross-examine Phyllis and points out that she cut a deal with the state. He’ll bring out that there’s no body, so there’s no proof that JT is even dead. Michael will make Phyllis admit that she hates Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and that she’d like Victoria to go to jail so she can’t be with Billy. Brittany will then get her turn to question Phyllis and point out that if Sharon went to prison then she’d eliminate yet another romantic rival…with false testimony.
At the recess, the defendants will chat and agree that the lawyers did a number on Phyllis, but that it was still bad for them. Outside the courtroom, Phyllis will tell Jack, Nick, and others that she didn’t know that Christine would spin things that way. A bit later, Jack and Billy will agree that they can’t let Phyllis bring Jabot down, but Kerry won’t think it’s time for Phyllis to step down.
Back in the courtroom, Michael will complain to Victoria and Nikki that they never told him the background on the video and that they seem to be determined to make his job harder by keeping secrets from him. He’ll tell them that they will be the ones to pay the ultimate price.

Summer Is A Match
Finally, at Crimson Lights, Phyllis will ask Summer whether she was right to do what she did, and Summer will say that she’ll stand by her mom no matter what. Suddenly, Summer will get a call from Nate Hastings (Brooks Darnell), who will say that she’s potentially a match for Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle), but he needs to do more tests to find out if she’s a definitive match. Summer will say that she’ll call him back, and abruptly hang up.
