Fans of General Hospital alum Vinessa Antoine no longer have to worry about not seeing their favorite star on screen as she has been cast in a new CBC series Diggstown. Antoine announced that she’ll be part of the new series on Instagram. “Good news! Looks like DIGGSTOWN will be crossing all kinds of Canadian borders! Woo hoo! Thank you, eOne for global distribution!”
You Can Watch, But There’s A Catch
But there’s one little bit of problem. Her U.S. fans won’t be able to see their Antoine play her part unless they can stream with the #CBC gem App. But she also hinted that a USA distribution is in the works and encouraged her fans to stay tuned.
Apart from taking on a new role, Antoine will also have a new look to match her character in the CBC show. The series that is set to air in March will show off a shorthaired Antoine.
Her followers may have already seen her new haircut after she posted a photo of her new hairstyle on Instagram. The cast and crew of the new show are still filming scenes for its first season.
Even though the series has not made it to the TV screen yet, excited fans can have a glimpse of what’s happening behind the curtain as she shares some photos as they shoot.
How To Watch
Entertainment One has acquired the international television rights for Diggstown and will also be responsible for the show’s distribution to locations outside English speaking Canada. One of eOne’s bosses, Noel Hodges, was pleased to add Diggstown to their list of drama offerings that feature unique and compelling characters and storylines.
Diggstown creator Floyd Kane had something to say as well. “We are pleased to have eOne, a world-class media company, as our partner on DIGGSTOWN. Noel and his team are the perfect fit for the brand of elevated episodic drama we’re hoping to make,” he said.
For now, US viewers will just have to wait for further announcement as to how they can watch the series once it starts airing.
As always, more detailed spoilers and a full collection of pictures for the week in question will appear on Soap Opera Spy, where there will be more clues and hints over exactly what’s going on.
