The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Paul’s Return Telegraphed By Rey’s Legal Problems – Christine and Husband Enforce the Law
Fans of The Young and the Restless know that Doug Davidson (Paul) has recently returned to the cast and that his tenured character will soon be seen in Genoa City. Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) emerging legal problems will help to set up the revival of the Chief.
Sharon’s Revelation Changes Her Case
Sharon (Sharon Case) told Brittany (Lauren Woodland) information that is potentially case-altering. The reveal about Rey’s pledge of love on St. Valentine’s Day was followed by his discovery of Sharon’s phone records.
In a purposeful and needed plot push, Sharon just so happened to have left information regarding her 2018 taxes out on a non-Crimson Lights coffee table at the cottage. Record of a 911 phone call, made on April 13, 2018, was showing in plain sight.

The improbable nature of what transpired was accepted by Y&R’s fans because they, like many in GC, want to see the J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) case come to a fitting end. Rey’s discovery of information he didn’t need a warrant for represented a breakthrough. That’s a good thing for the audience, but not for the ‘Coverup Trio’, or for Rey.
Christine And Michael Blindsided
Christine (Lauralee Bell), like Michael (Christian Le Blanc), detests being blindsided by someone she thought was on her side. While he hasn’t been withholding a bulk of information from Chris, as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and Vickie (Amelia Heinle) have from Michael, Rey purposely said nothing about the romantic feelings the maybe-one-day ‘Shey’ shared.

Viewers and Mia (Noemi Gonzalez) know that Rey also didn’t report his wife’s crime to the GC Police Department, where he’s a detective no less. While the withholding of information regarding his personal connection to Sharon is somewhat debatable, Rey’s choice to coverup Mia’s mistaken attack on Lola (Sasha Calle) is clearly criminal.
Davidson has indicated that Paul’s unexplained absence won’t be focused upon. That indicates that this cherished character, who’s been on the show since 1978, will return to reestablish order, along with the help of his spouse, Christine. That spells consequences for all who’ve attempted to skirt it these many past months.
