The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is officially a mother.  People reported that Wood had her baby boy on Monday, March 4.  She named him  Rise Harlen, who weighed 7 lbs, 15 oz. and almost 22 inches long.

Jacqueline Explains Baby Name

Wood told People that she chose the name Rise because it means growth and she believes that her child can change the world.

“We chose Rise because to us Rise means growth, the simplicity of moving forward. We look to our son as an uplifting force toward positive change and a better world,” Jacqueline explained.

B&B fans have been waiting all week to find out if Wood had her baby after she posted a hint on her Instagram account.  She posted a picture of herself in a cowgirl hat with the caption, “Time for the rodeo.”

Steffy Will Be Away For A While

While Wood takes her maternity leave and spends time with her new baby, Steffy Forrester will be taking a break from Los Angeles.  This week, Steffy will leave with her two daughters –Phoebe and Kelly– for Paris.  She will let Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) know that the reason she is leaving is to give him space to repair his marriage with Hope Logan (Annika Noelle).

CBS doesn’t know how long Wood will be gone.  They are taking a “wait and see approach” and will let Jacqueline let them know when she’s ready to come back.  For now, the soap will focus on other storylines, moving the focus to Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) return.

Congrats to Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and her husband,  Elan Ruspoli on the birth of Rise.  We cannot wait to see more pictures!
