General Hospital Star Carolyn Hennesy Joins Another Primetime Series
Carolyn Hennesy, who plays Diane Miller on General Hospital, has booked yet another primetime role. The 56-year-old actress is appearing on a guest role on Fox’s “The Cool Kids.”
“The Cool Kids” is a comedy TV series created by Charlie Day and Paul Fruchbom. It follows three friends—Hank, Charlie, and Sid—living in a retirement community who are determined to break all the rules to have fun. Things become more complicated when a female occupant, Margaret, joined their group and refuses to leave. It stars David Alan Grier (Hank), Martin Mull (Charlie), Leslie Jordan (Sid) and Vicki Lawrence (Margaret).
Other soap opera stars that appeared on the show include Charles Shaughnessy (Shane/Andrew, Days of Our Lives), Travis Schuldt (Ethan, Passions and Dr. Zajac, General Hospital) and Max Gail (Mike, General Hospital).
Hennesy also recently accepted a guest role on “Adam Ruins Everything,” which has been renewed for its third season. The primetime TV series focuses on Adam Conover who pokes funs at things that people accept without question and debunks widespread misconceptions about things that are usually taken for granted.
Another latest project Hennesy had is the horror flick “St. Agatha,” where she played the villain Mother Superior. The film, which premiered last month, has been getting good reviews.

In an interview with The 405, Hennesy shared that she immediately accepted the role, which is her first lead role in a horror movie, when it was offered to her by Darren Bousman. “I knew that I would be in very good hands with this horror icon.”
When asked what it’s like to play Mother Superior, she said: “Terrifying and delightful because you get to plumb depths with Mother Superior, for a character like Mother Superior, who is evil with no humor and complete justification in her own mind, for everything that she does. Depths that you cannot plumb in polite society. You have to figure out ways to get there and more importantly, you have to leave a trail of breadcrumbs to get yourself psychologically out of it.”
Hennesy teased that her next project will use her aerial trapeze skills, and she’s been sharing some photos from the site. So stay tuned for more updates!
As always, more detailed spoilers and a full collection of pictures for the week in question will appear on Soap Opera Spy, where there will be more clues and hints over exactly what’s going on.
