General Hospital Star Dominic Zamprogna Talks About His Emmy Nomination And What To Look Forward To Dante’s Return
Dominic Zamprogna, who just returned to General Hospital as Dante, got his third Daytime Emmy nomination. He talked about the scenes that made it to the cut of his reel and his reaction upon hearing the news. He also teased a bit more about Dante’s return to GH.
While others would be that third time is a charm, Dominic does not. He said that he is just happy to be nominated again. “If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn’t, that’s okay,” he said about the prospect of winning an award in the supporting actor in a drama category.

Max Gail, who portrays Mike Gail, is also nominated for the same category as Dante. “I think he’s done an amazing job with the storyline he had last year. It’s a good group of people all around, and hopefully, if I don’t win, he does,” he added.
Regarding the reel that they submitted, Zamprogna shared that the scenes include the ones with Max when he’s taken Avery, when Ryan (Jon Lindstrom) was dying last year, when Dante found out that he’s partially responsible for Nathan’s (Ryan Paevey) death, and when Dante bids Lulu (Emme Rylan) goodbye before he left in May.

Zamprogna also shared a time when GH stage manager, Craig McManus, came up to him one time and told him, “I think you’ve got some good stuff for your reel now.”
“Those guys see everybody’s stuff, day in and day out, so when they come up to you and say something [positive], it really hits home and means a lot,” Zamprogna told Soap Central.

Meanwhile, viewers are able to watch Dante again on General Hospital since last week. He’s been sharing scenes with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) these days, but Zamprogna teased that fans should look forward to scenes he would share with Lulu this coming week.
“Viewers are seeing some darker shades of him; he’s been through a bit since he’s been gone. And there’s some good stuff coming with Lulu that I think will be either at the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Hopefully, people will be excited and are looking forward to that,” he teased.
