Jason Canela’s (Arturo) announcement that he’s exiting The Young and the Restless means that his character will be leaving Genoa City. So, how will Arturo be written out?
Canela inked a one-year deal to work on Y&R, debuting in February 2018. His classy departing words about cast members and the behind-the-scenes crew underscore how a professional can leave a job, in Hollywood, or anywhere, on good terms.
Y&R Spoilers– Canela Grateful For Soap Opera Experience
Canela’s expressions of gratitude for those he worked for and with give the public a glimpse at the off-screen atmosphere on daytime’s iconic steamer, while also allowing future employers to feel confident in hiring Canela. The actor’s actions are both generous and smart.
Arturo arrived last year, quickly becoming connected to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). After their brief romance ended, Abby (Melissa Ordway) became Arturo’s love. Their nuptials were planned for approximately a year for now, which led hardcore fans to guess ‘Abturo’s’ wedding would never happen.
Young And The Restless Spoilers–Arturo Brought The Rosales Family To GC
Canela’s character led to the creation of an entirely new family, the Rosales’, when his brother, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), arrived last summer. He was followed by his sister, Lola (Sasha Calle), and sister-in-law, Mia (Noemi Gonzalez). Y&R hadn’t expanded any family in a major way at that time since Michael’s (Christian Le Blanc) clan began growing, with the addition of Kevin (Greg Rikaart), in the early 2000’s.

The elevation of Tony Morina to executive producer and Josh Griffith to co-executive producer and head writer, along with other back office changes, continues the transition from the Mal Young era. Along with that, as with many past soap shifts through the years, cast changes at Y&R are occurring.
Y&R Spoilers– Will Arturo Leave With Mia?
Viewers saw the seeming recent rewrite of history when Arturo cavorted with Mia (Noemi Gonzalez), which isn’t how the reimagined scene played the first time around. That connection surely can be used to push Mia’s first love out of town.
Arturo’s tell to Abby about Mia and anticipated fireworks with Rey, again, establishes the basis for a powerful, emotional exit storyline. But what if Mia claims that she’s pregnant, for real this time, and that Arturo is the father?
