General Hospital Spoilers: Could Kristina Have Bipolar Disorder?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth)’s emotional problems and lapses in judgment could stem from her being bipolar like her father Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and late brother Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig).
Bipolar disorders can look different in girls and women and manifest themselves differently than in men and boys, and so it may have never occurred to either Sonny or her mother Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that Kristina could be bipolar, possibly with a personality disorder as well.
GH Spoilers– Could Kristina Have Bipolar?
Poor judgment and bad decision-making are a symptom common among both sexes, but according to bridgestorecovery.com, a website of an organization that deals with the treatment of psychiatric disorders there are differences in the manifestation of symptoms as well as the age of onset between males and females. Men and boys symptoms usually show up at younger ages, and manic episodes are more frequent and intense than they are for women and girls, and they act out more aggressively.
The symptoms are more severe, and many sufferers also have substance abuse problems. Women and girls seem to have later onset ages, and have more depressive cycles than manic cycles, and cycle through manic and depressive stages more frequently and quickly. Women and girls are more likely to have self-esteem issues, as well as anxiety and other co-existing disorders.
What’s Ahead For Kristina On General Hospital?
Kristina’s feelings like her family doesn’t understand her or accept her and her history of getting into bad relationships such as with her much older professor Parker Forsyth (Ashley Jones), and Trey Mitchell (Eric Valdez) and other bad behavior starting in her teenage years could certainly point to her being bipolar, as well as her perceptions that others are against her.

That could be a little paranoia and possibly some mild schizophrenia combined with the bipolar disorder, which unfortunately is a common psychiatric coupling.
General Hospital viewers will recall that while Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Kristina have always been close, that Kristina and Morgan seemed to understand each other better. Kristina and Morgan seemed to relate on a deeper level than Kristina and Michael; both being bipolar could have been the reason.
