GH Spoilers– Will The New Role Result In Stella’s Exit?
This is not Vernee’s first primetime role; prior to landing the role of Stella Henry on General Hospital, she played Vernajean Williams on “Welcome Back Kotter” from 1975-1979, Viola “Vy Smith” on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” from 1990-1996, and various other primetime roles from the seventies through the present day, as well as film roles. She also appeared on CBS soap “The Young and the Restless” as Birdie for 19 episodes in 1999.

It is not yet known whether Vernee’s new role as Gloria will interfere with her portrayal of Stella Henry on General Hospital; she is listed as recurring rather than contract, so depending on how her CBS contract is written, she may or may not continue on General Hospital.
It is, however, worth noting that many soap stars maintain their soap opera roles while appearing in primetime and other roles. We wish Vernee the best in her new endeavor!
