Sure, ‘Kola’ is tight right now on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) have endured plenty. Now, they are enjoying realized efforts to be together. But will Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) long-range plan work?
Kyle is fully committed to Lola. There is no other man in Lola’s life. So all projects clear and upward. Inject Summer’s mind into this seemingly pleasant situation and the future outlook isn’t as certain.
After returning to Genoa City last June, Summer spent the, um, summer, fall, and winter, believing that Kyle would tire of Lola and eventually revert to form. He didn’t, but Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) intervened. That sparked a major change for the Summer, Kyle, Lola triangle.
Mia’s reckless and cowardly attack on the person she thought was Lola (when actually Abby Newman, Melissa Ordway was the target) resulted in a rush to the hospital. Lola’s resultant comatose state also produced an unexpected and thankful outcome.
Y&R Spoilers– Summer Saved Lola’s Life!
Dr. Nate Hastings (as then played by Darnell Brooks) determined that Lola needed a liver transplant. The only soapy match proved to be Summer. She submitted to the operation, volunteered half of her liver and Lola’s life was saved.
Kyle’s impulse marital proposal secured Summer’s organ donation. On that point, Kyle was wrong. ‘Skyle’s’ marriage lasted minutes and is now over. But the dysfunctional process only encouraged Summer to believe that Kyle was her man and will be so again.
Young And Restless Spoilers– Will Lola And Kyle Make It?
Meeting with the agent of social media influencers (yes, there is such a title connected to our developing digital world) is Summer’s latest attempt to keep her toe in the pool. That’s a jab at the outdoor Abbott mansion scene Y&R used to position ‘Kola’ against ‘Skyle’ last winter.
As spring flows into this summer, King’s character seems certain to persist. With that Lola better never choose to believe that Summer isn’t a threat, or believe that Kyle won’t remain vulnerable to his feelings being remixed.
