The Young And The Restless Alum Victoria Rowell Talks Making A Difference And Reflects On Her Time On Y&R
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) alum Victoria Rowell talks making a difference with her new film about opioid addiction. She also reflected on her time on the CBS soap opera, detailing one of her favorite moments/storylines she participated in. Here’s what you need to know about what Rowell had to say.
Victoria’s New Flick, Jacqueline And Jilly, Is Available On Prime Video
Rowell told CBS Soaps In Depth that she tries to make a difference in everything she does in her career. She wants to use the voice she has to bring awareness to issues that need attention. And, that is exactly why she felt the need to release the film, Jacqueline and Jilly on Amazon Prime.
The series is about a Washington lobbyist’s 20-year-old daughter’s opioid addiction affected the whole family. She noted that she is preparing to do a sequel to it as well because there is so much more story to tell.
“ I concluded that if I couldn’t create a piece of entertainment that had social awareness mechanism embedded in it, then I am in the wrong business,” Victoria said.
Whatever she did, worked for the film. She is currently working on the sequel.
Is A Y&R Return Possible?
Rowell has not been silent about her quest to return to the CBS soap opera. Her former co-star, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) wanted her to return as Drucilla Winters for almost a decade. He campaigned for her but he was told it wasn’t possible.
She said that CBS knows she wants to come back. And, they claim they are open to the idea. But ultimately, the ball is in their court and they have the final say.

As for her favorite storyline on the show, Victoria said it was “hands down” Drucilla becoming Devon Hamilton’s 9Bryton James) foster mother. She pitched the idea, thinking Y&R wouldn’t like it. However, she was surprised when they went with it and brought awareness to how many foster children are treated when under the state’s care.
Rowell added that it has been a great source of happiness to watch Bryton’s career blossom and Devon became a core character on the show. She hopes that his storyline has given hope to those who have followed his storyline.
