The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Eric Braeden Talks About The New Regime, Doug Davidson, And The New Adam
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that big changes are coming to the CBS soap opera. Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) talked to Soap Opera Digest in the newest issue about the changes that are happening behind the scenes. He wanted the Y&R viewers to know that he has faith in the new regime. Here’s what you need to know about what’s ahead on Y&R.
Y&R Spoilers– Eric Talks The Many Faces Of Adam
Braeden said that he has enjoyed watching Mark Grossman dive deep into the role of Adam. He said they made it difficult for the talented actor, throwing pages and page of dialogue at him. Braeden wished they would have let him warm up to that, but, at the same time, Grossman never disappointed anyone and he came prepared every day knowing every line. The veteran actor was very impressed and believes the casting director made a great decision with Mark.
As for the other actor that played Adam, Braeden said they all have been great actors. They each had strengths and made Adam a memorable character.
“Mark’s a damn good actor. I wished they hadn’t written so much dialogue for him, at first. So many scenes. You see the final product and the viewers just don’t understand how much sweat goes into it. That boy was confronted with so many scenes. So many emotions. Whoa, he did a hell of a job. And, for me to say that, is a lot. We have had some GREAT Adams,” Eric told SOD.
Young And Restless Spoilers– Eric Isn’t Going Anywhere
Even though at times, Braeden believes he doesn’t do a great job as Victor, he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. He loves his job and he constantly is striving to be better and take Victor to new heights.

“On daytime, we don’t get a lot of time to rehearse our scenes to make the lines your own. Yes, I create the character and control how the scenes come across, but the dialogue is different every day. You have to be flexible and realize that it isn’t going to be wonderful every day. Some days it’s Melody’s (Thomas Scott) time to shine and others it’s Sharon Case’s turn. And, of course, there are days you go home and think, ‘Sh*t, that was a really bad scene and I could have done this to make it better. That does no one any good. You got to learn to let that go,” Braeden explained.
As for what’s ahead on the show, Eric said to look for Adam’s return to bring out the best in Victor. He wants to repair their relationship and it drives him to be a more attentive father. Also, Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) return will throw Adam for a loop. And, there will be more scenes in Victor’s office, which Eric is thrilled about.
