General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Brenda Barett (Vanessa Marcil) could be coming home in the near future. In fact, GH fandom thinks that Dev (Ashton Arbab) could be Brenda’s son and that’s why Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is being so welcoming to the teen.
Ever since Dev came on the scene, the GH fans have wondered if the teen could be connected to Brenda. Some fans thought that he may have been connected to Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher), but it wasn’t the most popular speculation. Is it possible that Brenda could be coming back to GH? Here’s what we know so far about this wild rumor!
Generla Hospital Spoilers – Maurice Started The Popular GH Rumor
According to ABC Soaps In Depth, Maurice posted to Instagram a picture of himself and the teen known as Dev. He captioned the image, “New kid on the block—Who is Dev?”
Co-star Tamara Braun, who plays Kim Nero, replied to his post by joking that he will probably turn out to be his long lost son.
Then, a GH viewer posted a picture of Arbab and Mercil and noted the resemblance. Maurice replied to the post with a thinking emoji, which only added to the speculation that Benard was trying t tell his fans something about the upcoming storyline.
General Hospital Spoilers – Marcil Remains Strangely Quiet
Typically, Vanessa is very responsive on social media. She is one that loves to stir up controversy, so the GH fans are stunned that she’s not part of this recent banter. Brenda has not been seen in a few years on the ABC soap opera. It’s pretty much a given the GH fans would love to see her return, even if it was a short arc.
Brenda’s last storyline involved returning to find her son. She ended up leaving town with Jasper Jax (Ingo Rademacher) and her son to keep her child safe from Sonny’s violent world.

The buzz on social media is that Alec was never Brenda’s long lost son and Dev is actually her child. It would make a great twist to this storyline.
Besides, Brenda’s return has Maurice Benard’s stamp of approval, who thinks it would be a great idea for her to return to Port Charles to causes more chaos.

Wouldn’t mind Brenda’s return as there would be story to be told, but lets rid canvas of Nelle, Ryan, The Baby Switch, Shiloh and what happens to Brad before delving into what would be another rather long story. It may be that Dev is Sonny’s child with Brenda but neither knows this information. Situation would make for interesting story telling if penned properly. Brenda’s return could bring excitement to canvas.
As long as they don’t screw with Sonny and Carly to give her a story. I actually loved Brenda and Jax. Dev could be her son but not with Sonny. Don’t go there please.
Don’t want to see Sonny/Carly separated even as Jax is now back on the scene. We have been there and done that over and over again with the same reuniting of the two within a few months, so why even go in that direction. Even if Dev were Brenda’s son with Sonny – Sonny has a child with Alexis that hasn’t bothered his relationship with Carly, and then there is his child with Ava which also doesn’t interfere with his relationship with Carly. It just happens that Carly/Ava have a hatred for one another that goes beyond Avery. Soaps always have the long lost child to reappear at one time or another, and Dev just may be the one long lost child for Sonny.
Lol sounds like someone is in denial. Sonny and Carly had a scene on GH where they both acknowledged that Dev acts and behave just like Sonny, especially in his young years. If Brenda is his mother, then I’m 99% sure Sonny will end up being his father.
Why are they bringing that whiny twit back??? I’m long over her and damn sure DON’T want her back.
