Here’s How Fans Can Watch Their Favorite British Soaps From Across The Pond

EastEnders - Coronation StreetEven though fans stateside have plenty of great soaps to look forward to each week (including The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, and General Hospital) they also love watching their shows from across the pond, too.

As a matter of fact, Coronation Street, Eastenders and Emmerdale are just as popular as the main soaps here. And now fans have an easier and more accessible option for watching all of their favorite British programs in one place. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, Britbox is planning to launch a streaming service that will cost the same as a basic package with Netflix and the same as an Amazon Prime Video membership.

Joint Venture Streaming Service – BBC And ITV Have Joined Forces

The joint venture, which will see BBC and ITV joining forces to bring fans some of their favorite programs online, will launch later this year. Some of the programs that will be included in the subscription include Britain’s highly-rated reality television show Love Ireland and classics such as Gavin and Stacey from the BBC.

And while a lot of people can’t wait to watch Coronation Street, Eastenders and many of their other favorite programs from Britain, critics say that the subscription is more expensive then its competitors.

At $6.99 a month, it doesn’t include HD viewing or a multi-screen option the same way Netflix does. However, there are going to be several different plan options available, from a standard one to a premium one that will including Ultra HD.

Will The New Britbox Streaming Service Be Worth The Cost For Fans?

With that said, Amazon’s library for prime members is a little more extensive and they also allow you to watch three screens simultaneously. What’s more, customers also receive the full perks of Amazon Prime, which includes same day delivery and other benefits from the company.

Sky’s subscription service is a little more customizable with different menu options. Now TV compromises of five individual passes with separate monthly subscriptions. Some of the channels include Entertainment, Movies, Sport, Kids and reality television.

Needless to say, soap fans will have to look at all of the options to see which ones best suit their individual needs.

    Interesting, I now have AcornTV and TransponderTV so I don’t miss anything, but Britbox may be the way to go.
