“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Wednesday, July 31, tease that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will try to nudge Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) down a better path. At the coffeehouse, Jack notes that the judge likely wants Adam and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to compromise. He urges Adam to step up for Christian Newman’s sake or else he won’t deserve the title of father.
Across town, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) pushes Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) to see a professional like Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) suggested. Meanwhile, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) reaches out to Nick and declares he’s done with all the Adam investigating. He brings Nick up to speed on his breakup with Sharon and suggests he needs to find another job.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Rey Rosales Gets His Job Back
Later, Rey finds the position he’s looking for – and it’s one he’s held before. Rey bumps into Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and admits he’d like to come back to the force. He makes a pitch about how he misses being a cop and has learned valuable lessons from his mistakes. Paul agrees to let Rey get back on board, but he’ll make it clear that this is Rey’s last chance.

At Society, Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) hints to a burnt-out Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) that she could step away now. Chris determines that Michael’s got his eye on the DA position. After Michael does some convincing, Christine decides to think about it and let Michael know.
Christine ends up chatting about her options in the park with Paul later. He vows to support Christine no matter what. At Dark Horse, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) brushes off Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson), who wants to discuss launch party plans. Phyllis is working on something much bigger at the moment.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Visits Nick Newman
Back with Nick, he gets a visit from Phyllis. She reveals she teamed up with Victoria and now Nick’s properties are being returned to him. Phyllis just wants to make amends and hopes this can be a clean slate. Since Nick doesn’t want Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) parents fighting all the time, he along with the idea. Phyllis hurt Nick deeply, but he’s OK with putting the friction in the past.
Phyllis also makes her way over to Jabot for another attempt at making amends. She tells Jack and Billy that she’s willing to sell them the Jaboutique properties. Billy doesn’t want to ignore the opportunity and neither does Jack despite his questions.
After Phyllis reaches an agreement with Jack and exits, Jack turns his attention to Billy. Once he’s heard about his brother’s struggles, Jack notes that Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) would want her dad to get help. At Newman Enterprises, Victoria and Nick talk about his properties being returned to him. Nick admits he only plans to keep a few; Newman can keep the others.

Once Nick suggests he’s getting back to his mission to find himself, Victoria’s puzzled about what that entails. Nick tells Victoria she’ll see, so it looks like his sister will just have to be patient. Of course, Adam is anything but patient when he runs into Victoria at the park. He’s eager to set up Christian visits, but Victoria’s been ignoring his calls.
Victoria continues to stall, but Adam has other matters to contend with. He confronts Phyllis about what she’s been up to, but he doesn’t sweat it since he still gets the money from the sales. Phyllis gloats about Summertime, Inc. acquiring the Grand Phoenix Hotel, but Adam notes that she missed the fine print. She realizes she actually owns a different property in Detroit, which is set to be demolished.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Theo Taunts Kyle Abbott
Adam assures Phyllis she can still have her penthouse. She’s just ready to wipe that smirk off Adam’s face! Over with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), he talks to Jack about the Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) situation before being summoned by Theo. Kyle’s irritated since he already told his former friend he was dead to him.
Theo hints that Kyle would be wise to rethink that, so Kyle assumes that’s a threat. After Theo alludes to an incident he cleaned up for him, Kyle gets riled. He angrily insists Theo shouldn’t hold that over his head.
