Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) may always be a bad guy to some on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. But to others, he’s become a compassionate figure.
A dividing line will be drawn between those who are biologically connected to Thomas, along with those who are impacted by his circumstances, verses others who remain critical. And then there is Hope Forrester (Annika Noelle), whose legendary compassion is being tested, as she, more than anyone, has the power to signal that Thomas deserves another chance.
Let those who have done no wrong look down on Thomas, that’s what Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) believes. Of course, B&B fans know that they, along with Hope, Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Ridge were literally looking down on Thomas after he fell to the beach far below the cliff house. They responded by immediately helping him.

Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Brooke Forrester’s Unintended Actions
It was a dramatically ironic contrast shot, as Thomas once stood on Mulholland Drive, peering down at the dying Emma Barber (Nia Sioux). She was the poor soul who was trying to drive to the cabin so she could tell Hope that Beth Spencer (Madeline Valdez and River Davidson) was alive and that she was Phoebe Forrester. Tailgated by Thomas, then crashing over the side of the road, Emma died as a result of her injuries in a case that’s just been reopened.
Daytime drama is all about emotion. So whatever Thomas did, and he did a lot, what’s happening now is the main focus. Brooke’s unintended actions resulted in Thomas suffering what could prove to be fatal injuries. Though the resulting hospital scenes indicate that Atkinson’s character will at least be given the chance to own up to his actions and say goodbye to loved ones. In that scenario, viewer feelings will surely be mixed about Thomas’ legacy.
Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Thomas Forrester Seemed Genuinely Sorry
However, if Thomas pulls through, as seems more likely, then a far more compelling set of scenarios can play out. Whether he’s truly contrite, masks his still-existing dark feelings and plays many people again, or even knows who he is, due to potential memory loss, each offer intriguing plot paths forward.
Arguably the most touching scene between Atkinson and Henry Joseph Samiri (Douglas Forrester) took place last week. In it, Douglas told Thomas that he was a good guy and his best friend. Thomas was fully moved, finally breaking from his self-imposed tortuous state.
Sure, Thomas still needed psychological care, likely including intensive therapy and a medicine regimen, along with strict monitoring. But his intent to tell Hope that he was genuinely sorry for his actions represented a first voluntary step back to normalcy. That’s why viewers will have hope for Thomas’ future, pun not intended, if he recovers and then commits to living a good life.
