The Good Doctor Season 3 opener is just around the corner and from what we know so far there’s a very good chance that Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) might finally find a little love in his life.
At least that’s what fans are hoping for after the ending of the last season suggested a romantic plot. Here’s what we know so far.
Dr. Shaun Murphy is a young autistic surgeon who has savant syndrome. During the first season of the show, fans got to know him after he relocated from a quiet country life to join the surgical unit at the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.

And while he’s definitely second guessed himself in a number of difficult and in some cases life-threatening moments, Dr. Murphy has proven himself to be more than just a good doctor. As a matter of fact, he’s a pretty brilliant one.
And now a new teaser trailer for The Good Doctor Season 3 finds Shaun going out on a date with Carly (Jasika Nicole). Fans are very excited for the new season as they can’t wait to find out if the doctor might have a chance at true love.
Apparently, viewers aren’t the only ones who are curious about the date as the trailer also suggests that many of Dr. Murphy’s friends and co-workers are also wondering how the date went down!
The Good Doctor Spoilers – Picks Up Where Previous Season Left Off
The Good Doctor Season 2 ended on quite a romantic note. That’s because we got to see Shaun finally breaking out of his bubble. He went to Carly’s house with chocolates and flowers and finally asked her out on a date. The teaser for Season 3 suggests that it will pick up where the previous season left off.
Needless to say, Dr. Murphy’s date can either go incredibly well or horribly wrong. In addition to the much-anticipated romance between Shaun and Carly, there will be many more surprises in store.
